AL-RIFAQ TRANSLATIONS
Of Weapons and Words brings together six essays of political commentary and analysis that offer a thought-provoking vision of Palestine and the wider region. Each essay considers the historical, political, and economic contexts that have sustained the ongoing siege on Gaza. These essays help us respond to the martyred Palestinian writer Basel Al-Araj’s call: “Keep Palestine firmly within your sight.”
Featuring: Mousa Alsadah, Vivian Aqiqi, Abaher El-Sakka, Mudar Kassis, Nidal Khalaf, Lena Meari, Amer Mohsen, Abdaljawad Omar, and Sari Orabi, with translations by Rouqaya Alkhateeb, Mohammed Elabadsa, Shadi Hamada, and Alaa Salaymeh.
All proceeds will go directly towards commissioning further work from translators living in and connected to Gaza, Palestine.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
AL-RIFAQ is a collective based in Pōneke, Aotearoa New Zealand that translates contemporary writing from Arab scholars, journalists, and organic intellectuals.
